Nigerian-born Afrobeats producer and recording artist Uchenna Benjamin, popularly known as UrchMan, has released a new extended play, EP, titled Line Down.
The project marks another phase in the musician’s career as he expands his work beyond music production and develops his identity as a recording artist.
UrchMan began his professional career in Nigeria in 2018 and has since worked across music production, songwriting and recording, drawing influences from Afrobeats, African musical traditions and contemporary sounds.
According to the artist, Line Down reflects his continuing experimentation with modern African music while bringing together some of the influences that have shaped his sound.
Following the release, UrchMan plans to promote the EP through digital platforms, social media, live performances, collaborations and other audience-engagement activities in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and other African markets.
The project is also expected to support his broader plans to build the UrchMan brand internationally while expanding his music catalogue and working with emerging and established artistes.
The musician also plans to pursue more live performance opportunities as he continues his transition from primarily working behind the scenes as a producer to establishing himself as a more expansive recording artist.
