International Day of Charity: Caleb Danladi Foundation urges support for vulnerable Nigerians

The Caleb Danladi Foundation has called for greater commitment to charitable activities and humanitarian interventions aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged persons across the country.
The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Dr Caleb Danladi, made the call in a statement issued to commemorate the International Day of Charity, observed annually on September 5.
The day promotes charity, philanthropy and volunteerism as important means of addressing humanitarian challenges and improving the well-being of people in need.
Danladi said charity should go beyond the distribution of material assistance, stressing that meaningful acts of kindness should empower beneficiaries, restore their dignity and create opportunities for them to become self-reliant.
He said the challenges of poverty, unemployment, hunger and social vulnerability required concerted efforts by governments, private organisations, civil society groups, philanthropists and individuals.
The foundation urged well-meaning Nigerians to cultivate the spirit of giving and extend support to people in need, noting that even modest contributions could make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities.
It also called on corporate organisations and philanthropists to invest in programmes focused on education, healthcare, youth empowerment, women’s development and poverty alleviation.
According to the foundation, sustainable development can only be achieved when vulnerable members of society are given opportunities to participate meaningfully in their communities and improve their livelihoods.
The foundation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting disadvantaged persons and initiatives promoting human dignity, social inclusion and community development.
It urged Nigerians to regard the International Day of Charity not merely as an occasion for giving, but as a reminder that helping others should remain a continuous responsibility and a shared commitment to humanity.
