Nigeria: Self-confessed Murderer Gives Version of What Led to Death of Job Seeker Umoren

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command in Nigeria’s South-South has paraded Uduak Frank Akpan, the killer of a job seeker, Iniubong Umoren, to dismiss rumour of his death in custody.
The self-confessed killer – who wore a shirt with the inscription ‘The Mudda Squad” which raised eyebrows on social media – claimed he took the life of his victim in self defense.
The state commissioner of police, Andrew Amiengheme, said it was necessary to have the press conference because of the rumour that was going round that the suspect had committed suicide in custody.
